Team building comes down to the three 'C's.
Communication: Let people know the why behind the big decisions. Consistency: It's vital to show integrity and stick to core principals. Collaboration: Empower your team to have a positive creative input.

Teaching Philosophy

I strive to create an open, inclusive and safe creative space in which students are free to take risks. A classroom is a community of learners in which all participants (including the teacher) are encouraged to question, learn from one another, and to reflect critically on their performance.
This is best achieved through a continuous cycle of formative assessment and feedback (including peer feedback) which reinforces accountability to oneself and others.
As a teacher, I fulfill three key roles. As a guide, I must be constantly attentive and observant so I can evaluate individual strengths and weaknesses and suggest tailored pathways towards the completion of goals.
As a facilitator, I seek to provide learning experiences with real-world, practical applications - that means hands-on, learning by doing. I want students to see themselves as part of a wider community, and provide opportunities, wherever possible, to directly link classroom tasks and learning objectives with the wider world, such as public presentation, online presence, industry critique and peer-to-peer feedback.
As a mentor, I am conscious of the need to model modes of behavior and thought that students can follow. That means striving to be an ethical realist, not merely doing what I can do, but striving to do what I should do in the pursuit of a purposeful life.
I believe that the motivation for self improvement is best addressed not by an artificial desire to please the teacher or to beat a test, but through contextualizing the formal education experience as part of the real world, part of which is the building of personal and professional relationships that outlive your time in the classroom.
In practice, this means producing work such as creative portfolios, practical film and video production, that one can look back on and take pride in.
